What We Do

Cliff’s Closet is a nonprofit thrift store dedicated to supporting individuals in recovery. Every item purchased does more than fill a closet. It fuels second chances.

All proceeds from Cliff’s Closet go directly to support Cliff’s Housing, which provides stable, structured housing for individuals recovering from addiction or transitioning from incarceration. Today, Cliff’s Housing serves approximately 40 men and women who are working to rebuild their lives with accountability and support.

Through our affiliate, Biltmore Housing, we extend that impact even further, providing housing for an additional 50 men and women in recovery.

Together, these programs create more than housing. They create stability, opportunity, and a real path forward.

Our Mission

With safe housing we guide individuals on their path to independence, supporting them in taking meaningful steps toward a self-sufficient and fulfilling life. Cliff’s Housing was created in honor of Wm. Cliffton Bullock. Our goal is to reach people where they are.

About the Director

Alvin Long is the director of Cliff’s Housing. He and his friend Alton Billinger were both struggling with addiction when they were younger. They met in recovery and decided to help others who were going through what they went through. In 2010 they started Biltmore Housing. They are carrying on the work now through the non-profit, Cliff’s Housing.
